My testimony has been strenghtened
Hello Everybody,
I hope you all had a wonderful week this week! I had a pretty good week teaching. I have had my testimony strengthened in that the Lord is working to prepare people to receive this message!
It was really cool this week because we found two new investigators. It is a Mom, Tani Medina and her nine year old daughter Jennifer (she also has another daughter who is five named Melanie and her husband but for now he works everyday). It was really cool because one day this week we were trying to visit our convert Victoria and she wasn't home, so we started to walk to go visit someone else. There is a park in front of Victoria's house and we were walking on the sidewalk when a lady came up to us and asked if we were LDS. She said that her sister is and is coming to live with her and her family and wanted to know where our church is so that she can attend. We explained where our church is and that we would like to visit with her. When we asked her if we could teach her she immediately said yes and that she wanted to learn more. We set an appointment to visit with her.
Our appointment was on Saturday and we had a great first lesson with her. She was very interested and both of her daughters listened and learned a lot. She had a lot of questions and listened very intently. We invited her to church the next day and they said that they would go. We invited her to be baptized on 18th of July and she and her daughter accepted the date. The next morning we went to pick them up and they were both ready and waiting for us. Church was wonderful because in sacrament meeting everything was about how families can be forever and she was very intently listening the whole time. They stayed for all three hours and in Principles of the Gospel class we talked about gifts of the spirit. They assigned us all to talk about a gift and she got up and shared what she learned and then afterward said that it was really cool for her to read the story and see that there are gifts of the spirit. Jennifer went to primary and they gave her a Bible and Book of Mormon and invited her to their activity. Really it was perfect for them and I am so excited to help them progress. Really my testimony grew so much seeing how ready they are for the Gospel in their lives.
I know with all of my heart that this is the work of our Savior, and that He is preparing the hearts of the people to receive the Gospel in their lives. I have seen so many wonderful blessings come into my life and into the lives of others through this Gospel. I am so thankful for this opportunity that I have to share this Gospel everyday here and I love being able to see those we teach learn and grow and become closer to Christ. I love this work and I have been so blessed to be here to serve.
I love you guys and I hope you all have a wonderful week! Take Care!
Love,

I have another new companion and I still have a headache - so please pray for me!
Hey everyone,
I hope that your week has been a good one and that you were all able to enjoy yourselves. My week was pretty good even though I have still had a pretty strong headache all week long. I am thankful for all of your prayers for me, I know that they always help. It was an interesting week with a new companion again already. Elder Arellanes is very different than Elder Benitez, but I am excited to have him as my companion. I can tell that he is excited for this work and that he loves it. He is from the city Oaxaca(you say it wa-hawk-a) in Oaxaca. This week I showed him around our area and introduced him to our investigators and the members.
This week was pretty good. We taught our investigator Brenda a lot this week because she is almost always home and a lot of our other investigators cancelled appointments or weren't home when we tried to visit them. She is doing pretty good and I always love teaching her because she understands really well what we teach. The biggest thing with her is that she says she wants to be sure before she gets baptized, but she still hasn't prayed to know if what we are teaching is true. So last night we had a lesson with her about the power and role of prayer in finding her answer. The spirit was strong in that lesson and I hope that she truly tries to pray and find an answer. I know that one will come, but that she needs to pray first to find it.
We found a new investigator too this week. Her name is Irine and she is a bit older and has some young boys and two daughters that do not live with her. She is very interested to learn about our message and she wants to go to the church and see how it is. We only taught her once so far and we are going to try and teach her more this week.
Other than them we had, various other visits. We have been trying to visit the Vazquez family but they have been super busy working lately. I hope that we will get a chance to visit them this week because it has been a while since we last saw them, and since they have come to church. I really want to help them to be baptized because they are a wonderful family, so hopefully we can find them this week.
It was a pretty good week and it was nice that it rained the last few days, so it hasn't been quite as hot which I have appreciated a lot. It definitely is nice when it cools down a bit because we are always walking and it is better when it isn't quite as hot.
I was sad to hear that Elder L. Tom Perry passed away last week. I really have always enjoyed his talks and messages. Even though he died I am glad to know that we have living prophets and apostles on the earth that guide and direct the work of the Lord here. I have a testimony of the revelation that prophets and apostles receive for us. I know that the Lord speaks to them and that their guidance and direction is truly inspired. I love that we have the priviledge to listen to and learn from them.
I love all of you and hope you have a wonderful week! Please keep praying for me! Take care!
Love,
Elder Mitchell J Condie
